What is Income School Project 24
Income School Project 24 is a site that teaches people how to make money online through affiliate marketing. It was designed by Ricky Kesler and Jim Harmer.
They started building websites in 2010 and created the Income School in 2015.
They have developed twelve courses to help people build online businesses through websites and YouTube channels. The courses cover finding profitable niches, building a website, searching for keywords, creating content, SEO (search engine optimization), and much more.
They are ever-present on their YouTube channel. But if you’ve ever watched any of their videos, you will know that they are not fans of paid keyword research tools or link building. This stance has annoyed those people whose income relies on these tools.
That aside, the Income School is highly respected and has been invited to speak at conferences such as WordCamp and FinCon.
One thing to note is that Jim Harmer has now left the company. He left in 2021. This leaves the company to be run by Ricky Kesler alone.
The course is designed to teach you how to earn passive income through niche websites, blogging, or creating authority websites.
The course will take you through the steps for creating an authority website – to enable you to create an online business in 24 months. Hence the name, Project 24. The idea is you are committing to putting time and effort in for 24 months to achieve your goals.
There are 60 steps in this program that are broken down into 123 lessons, where you will learn how to start an online business, choose a niche for your online business, build a WordPress website, SEO, Traffic, and more.
The program claims that you will go from being a complete beginner to a full-time online entrepreneur and earn a decent income from blogging and affiliate marketing by the end of the program.

Let’s go into the guys behind Income School Project 24…
Who's Behind Income School Project 24?
Well, as I said earlier. Jim has now departed from being a part of Income School.
So, you are left with Ricky to hold the reins.
But to begin with, Jim and Ricky started building websites in 2010 to make money online. They achieved some successes and learned from some failures, as we all do.
When Jim started listening to a podcast regarding generating income online, he was broke. As he became a lot more aware of specific niche sites, he chose to develop his very own digital photography site.
With the website’s popularity, he became commonly recognized in this industry.
Previously, Ricky worked for HP for several years before partnering with Jim on Income School.
They’ve both been invited to numerous conferences to speak and are both well-respected online.
The Income School YouTube channel currently has over 212K subscribers. Which is an impressive number.
But it hasn’t all been good for Ricky and Jim. They have been called out on their expertise when it comes to SEO (search engine optimisation) and link building. These are also present in their training, where they skip steps that other SEO pros would share with you.
There are also claims that their fans are primarily beginners who aren’t making money online yet.
I think they do add value, but there are gaps in their training too. This will make it harder for beginners to get started. 24 months is a long period when most can get something out of it within 12 months.

Module 1 - Income School Project 24 - 60 Steps to a Successful Website
The first module is a comprehensive 60-step-by-step guide to:
- Creating a website
- Creating content for that website
- SEO (search engine optimisation)
- Promoting this website.
These are the topics covered in this module:

- Setting up a WordPress website
- What you need to know about SEO
- Keyword research
- How to write an article that drives traffic

There is a lot of content within this course. However, there are also a few gaps in the material. Most notably, a lack of content about Google Analytics and their SEO methods do miss some important steps out too.
Module 2 - Search Analysis
This second module covers helpful strategies for finding topics to write your content about. You can generate a list of topics suitable for your website content by using Search Analysis.
This module will cover:
- Ideation
- Brand planing
- Selecting keyworsd
- Creating an effective hit list
Please note, Ricky doesn’t believe in paid keyword research tools. Meaning he doesn’t talk about one. This becomes an issue when you want to understand what people are searching for online, to ensure you cover it off on your site.
Module 3 - Choosing Profitable Niche
This is a 50-minute video about how to choose the right niche to base your website on.
They also provide you with a spreadsheet with a list of at least 350 niche ideas. They list them from promising to the least promising 0ne.
Choosing the right niche is an important step in getting started, so you want to ensure you pick one that will work both ways. One that will bring an audience in. But it also needs to be one that you are highly interested in too.
Module 4 - No-Nonsense SEO
Optimising your website for the search engines is such an important aspect of having an online presence. This is done through SEO or search engine optimisation.
Being able to rank your content onto page one on Google is so important. It will bring free traffic to your site and every blogger wants it to happen to them.
It does take hard work and patience. But it is so worth it when it happens.
This is what the training video within this module is going to talk to you about. It’s a 50-minute video offering tips on how to improve your search engine rankings and drive traffic to your website.
Module 5 - Web Traffic Snowball
This module will teach you what social media marketing is, how to capitalise on social media platforms with little chance of having results, and how to increase your site’s audience.
Module 6 - Email Marketing 101
This module will learn about the uses of building your email list for your online business.
Here are the following topics that are covered in E-Marketing 101:
- Utilise your email lists to engage and convert your audience into paying customers
- Why you may or may not want to build an email list
- Start with a free email list and scale up from there
Module 7 - Myth-Busting
This module describes what is known as the KGR or keyword golden ratio and its importance to online businesses.
Module 8 - How to Find Writers
There will be a time when you want to outsource your content creation. This is the course that shows you how to find the right writer for you.
It also includes some basic skills, like teaching your writers how to log in and post on WordPress.
The instructor will also teach some of his resources to recruit writers and work with them effectively.
You will also learn how to draft a contract with your writers and how to use tools, plugins, and job boards on WordPress.
One thing the course doesn’t tell you is that there are many challenges involved in finding the right writers and how to weed out the ones that will not achieve your standards…
Module 9 - Professional Photography
Income School Project 24 includes a 22-lesson course on how to take photos for your website. Now, it does depend on your niche, whether this is beneficial or not.
I know that Jim had a background in photography. But not sure if the level of detail is needed here.
But there may be some value in the course.
Having the right images on your site can have the desired effect. But again, it does depend on the niche.
Module 10 - Website Reviews
The course instructors will review and provide feedback on the site students created in this module. The reviews will last 12 to 16 minutes.
If you found effective strategies from those reviews, you can enforce them on your website.
However, that depends on your type of business because some strategies won’t work for you.
Module 11 - How to Improve Your Writing Skills and Speed
This course will show you how to improve and speed up your writing skills.
During this nine-lesson module, you will learn to choose the correct article topic and write an article for the selected topic.
You will also be presented with a post structure designed to help you improve your writing speed.
Module 12 - Monetising Your Website with Advertisements
Monetizing your website too early is not always a good idea.
However, if you fail to create quality content for your website to build a solid foundation, you will pay more attention to the money part.
Module 12 will teach you how to use ads to monetize your website pages without focusing on selling products.
You will also learn how to use ads effectively from the course instructors. The instructors will also show you how to optimise your ads to be as effective as possible.
Module 13 - The Success Mindset
The key to being successful online is having the right mindset. Too many people think it can be done quickly. Which isn’t the case.
It takes hard work and a lot of time to see it through. This module focuses on talking to you about what is the “success mindset”.
There’s a video recording of Jim’s talk from the summit in Boise, Idaho, in October 2018. It’ll go through how to grow and build an online business.
Module 14 - How to Use Pinterest to Drive Traffic to your Blog
This module will help you drive traffic to your blog using Pinterest.
You will not only learn how to use Pinterest to boost traffic to your blog in this module, but you will also find 5 interviews with bloggers who detail how they utilize Pinterest to get more traffic.

How Much Does Income School Project 24 Cost?
The Income School Project 24 membership is a one-time payment of $449 for the first year. The second and any other year will cost $249, as long as you stay a member.
As it’s titled Project 24, it is a 24-month program, so you are looking at paying $698 if you do stay the second year.
From a price point of view, it’s in the middle. Several courses are priced at $997 (examples include Affiliate Lab and The Authority Site System). Both of these are good options for beginners but are expensive.
Then there are options like Wealthy Affiliate or Invincible Marketer, which are priced at $49/month or $67/month respectively. But both of which offer a more comprehensive training program, in my opinion. Wealthy Affiliate even includes the tools that all of these alternatives do not.
Do Income School Project 24 Offer a Refund?
Income School Project 24 have changed their refund policy. But I do agree with their reasons.
Basically, people were signing up for their membership. Downloading the tools, watching the content, and getting anything of value they could. Then leaving and requesting a refund.
This isn’t fair to the owners, who have put in a lot of time to create this content.
So, they have actively changed their refund policy to not offering a refund. However, I wouldn’t say they would never offer a refund.
If you check out the screenshot of a review below, it appears as though they were misled (probably from an affiliate trying to sell the course) and they didn’t realise what they were getting into…
The update at the bottom was that the owners did offer a full refund. This does show integrity.
But in the main, I would expect most people fishing to get a refund would not get one… You can learn more about their refund policy here.
Alternative: On the other hand, if you’re looking to learn the best business model to earn passive income online as a beginner, there are other, more suitable, and cost-effective alternatives elsewhere…

Most Income School Project 24 reviews online are directed toward their products and are generally positive.
For example, on their own review page, the course got an “Excellent” rating with a 4.9 rating (out of 5).
Here are some of the most common reviews.
In the main, the reviews are positive. The course does offer some valuable information and from the fact that the reviews are positive. People know what they are signing up for.
Another good sign. If people were being misled into joining, it can cause all kinds of negative vibes about a platform.

Project 24 offers high-quality training that is ideal for beginners. They have taken pride in the creation of their content.
They are regularly updating the content, which is a huge undertaking considering the number of training videos they have in their library.
The training is also designed to be easy to follow, meaning it is aimed at beginners.
Project 24 is laid out in a step-by-step format, offering you an easy time learning the ropes of generating income online.
More intermediate members might find it lacks the detail they need though…
The owners are legit
Even though Jim has left, I’m sure his legacy will remain with it. But both owners have an online presence, where you can prove their credentials.
They do care about ensuring their students have what they need to be successful. They also update the material based on students’ feedback too.
Regular updates to the course
Ricky is consistently adding fresh material to the course. Whenever they find new and effective techniques and methods, they make sure you get them.
They are also involved actively in the forums, sharing more knowledge with their students.
Access to a community
Income School has a fantastic community that is useful when you need inspiration and recommendations.
The community is an excellent place to learn from other online business owners, join hands in conquering numerous challenges, and assist each other grow.
There are success stories from real users
One thing that proves that the training has value. and works are the success stories and testimonials… You can see real reviews on their website and the students are saying it works.
For me, something they could probably work on is their Trustpilot profile… Reviews on their website are controlled by Ricky. So, they may only show positive reviews… Maybe I’m thinking about conspiracy theories, too much. But either way, I think there are enough legit reviews to show it is a worthwhile course.
Income School Project 24: Cons
There are a few concerns I want to share about Income School Project 24…
The course is expensive
The biggest barrier, especially for beginners will be the price. It is expensive starting at $449. Admittedly, it isn’t the most expensive on the market. But still, it is high enough.
Especially as they are getting you in the mindset of signing up for 24 months. This will bring in an additional $249 at the end of the first year for the second year.
This isn’t offered in any alternative, like a monthly subscription, etc. So you will need to find $449 upfront first.
The price is too expensive, especially for those new to affiliate marketing.
The course is good and all, but how can you tell if this course is effective?
Not just that, if you want to create your website, you have to pay for web hosting, tools, and other software or plugins that you need for the website.
You see, it will cost you more than the upfront price.
There is value within this course, but you need to consider whether you can afford the course and the additional costs before you dive in. As the refund policy is quite clear and worth a look first. Here is a link to it again.
It just means it’s a riskier decision than you might think it is at first.
No technical support is included
As you don’t get any tools with the training at Project 24, you will lose out on any technical support from Ricky and the team. There will always be issues, be it with a website or one of the other tools.
It can be frustrating, especially if you don’t know what the issue is. They will not be able to help you.
So, if you are experiencing some technical issues with your website, you have no one to contact.
As I said, technical support is important, especially for those new to online marketing.
What’s the point of learning and paying if no one on their team will help you?
There are no tools provided
Income School Project 24 doesn’t provide you with any of the tools you need to get online. Examples include a website builder and hosting for a website.
A keyword research tool or link tracking software. These will all add additional costs to your online business. Keyword research tools alone can cost upwards of $100 per month.
Income School Project 24 doesn’t include any tools in the course because creating them is expensive.
They can recommend relevant tools to you without any free tools and earn commissions when you purchase those tools using their links.
Income School Project 24 has a page focused on recommending expensive tools to you.
This way, they can make money from you.
No free trial or Money back guarantee
You cannot try Income School Project 24 for free. There is no free trial period, for you to take it for a test drive. if you want to access it, you will need to pay the full $449 upfront.
That isn’t fair to expect a beginner to do that. What if they find the business model isn’t right for them?
We’ve already gone through the fact there is no money-back guarantee. They are also very picky about who is worthy of a refund.
You have to be fully committed to sticking at it for 24 months if you sign up for Income School. You have to be committed to something you don’t really understand.

The time and effort required
One of the hard things to get your head around with an online business is the time and effort it requires to get going. That with, not knowing if your hard work will turn out good.
I know many bloggers who have made it. They are earning full-time incomes online and can talk about those results openly. They also talk about the work it took to get there.
But I have also spoken to bloggers who struggled and ended up having to change their strategies. Or try something new. Many have given up.
According to Income School Project 24, you can easily build an authority site using their blueprint, but it implies that you can compete directly with the big brands.
Big companies have teams of content creators. But, unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will win the big competitions no matter how hard we work.

Is Income School Project 24 a Scam?
No, Income School Project 24 is not a scam.
The training course provides some value and will show you how to start with affiliate marketing.
Having said that, they do make it sound easier to build an authority website than it is.
Creating quality content for an authoritative website will take time for you to process and get right. Typically authority websites are built by a team and not an individual. This is why there is a training module on how to hire writers, as you can then produce more content.
There are also other issues, they prevent you from targeting low competition keywords, as they don’t believe in the practice. They also only talk about creating backlinks which is an outdated practice. Which Google doesn’t necessarily agree with.
These elements make building an authoritative website much harder than first thought.
With Income School Project 24, you are asked to answer questions by doing some research.
It sounds like you’re doing an assignment at school.
The mistake they made is that they forget that authority sites exist in every niche that can address people’s problems, and you don’t stand a chance against big names in the business.
This doesn’t make Project 24 a scam. But it does mean that you will have a much harder time of it than they make out.
