Affiliate Marketing FAQ - General Questions

Let’s start with the typical questions I get asked about affiliate marketing, starting with what affiliate marketing really is…

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is a type of online marketing business.  It’s very much like a “refer a friend” scheme.  You, as an affiliate sign up to an affiliate program which allows you to promote products or services within that program.

When someone clicks on your affiliate link and buys that product or service, then you are rewarded with a commission.  This commission is typically a percentage of the sale price of the product or service.

For example.  If you become an affiliate of Amazon and have a commission rate of 4%, and someone buys a $100 product through your affiliate link.  You would earn $4…  Doesn’t sound like much, but if you think you can get 100 people to click on that same link and they all buy that $100 product, you would have earned $400.

Things to Know…

There are several types of internet marketing that overlaps with affiliate marketing.  This is usually determined by how the affiliate marketer decides to promote, or what they are promoting…

Some of the marketing skills that may be required are:

  • Social Media Marketing
  • Email Marketing
  • Paid Advertising
  • Content Marketing
  • Attraction Marketing

Why Do People Choose Affiliate Marketing?

If you want to earn passive income, work from home or make money online, then Affiliate Marketing is one of the best ways for a beginner to earn a full-time passive income from home or online.

Here are 8 Advantages of an Affiliate Marketing Business

#1 It’s (Could Be) a Source of Full-Time Passive Income!

Affiliate Marketing has the potential of earning you a truly passive income stream.  The reason we say that is that you will be building your own website, that will be working 24/7 365.  Whilst you will need to stop to rest or eat, or spend more time with the family or friends, your website will still be online to make sales.

There is also the advantage that your website will be available in any country.  Most of the visitors to my other site are from the US, whilst I’m in the UK.  My first affiliate sale happened whilst I was asleep.

If you put the effort in early, and be consistent with content creation, your traffic will keep on growing and the sales will follow.

#2 You Can Work from Anywhere!

Literally anywhere…  From home, your local coffee shop, travelling the world.  All you really need is an internet connection to get online to do some work on your site.  But even then, we all know a place where there is no internet, that’s fine.  Plan your next blog post and write it when you get online.

You’ll only really be productive when you are comfortable… Although there are always pictures of people lounging by a pool showing how much they have earned, it’s more realistic to say that isn’t really the best place to be productive…

Get yourself somewhere comfortable, but somewhere that will also give you the motivation to achieve your goals.   I have a home office, which means I can get going with what I need to do.  But then again, sometimes I’ll just take the laptop down to the sofa and do a few bits too.

This is mainly down to the need for you to focus on working instead of having a lot of distractions that can get in the way of you achieving your goals.

The pictures and videos you see are attraction marketing techniques to attract people into their business.  I guarantee they have an office too, yet they want you to believe it is easier said than done.

#3 You Get To Turn a Hobby or Passion Into a Business!

You get to choose what you are basing your affiliate marketing business on.  It’s not like you are getting a job selling something where you have to sell the products that company sells, even if you have no interest in it yourself.

Most bloggers have chosen a subject they love, they know something about and are really motivated about.  Affiliate Marketing shouldn’t be any different.

You need to invest a year of your time to effectively get this business off the ground.  If you pick something that you have no interest in…can you see yourself still working on it in a year’s time?

Whereas if you picked a subject you love, like a hobby, I bet you can come up with loads of content ideas to get going.

Who wouldn’t want to build a business that will earn you money from something you love?  Effectively you will get paid for talking and writing about something you love…

That’s an ideal business plan…

#4 You Decide Your Working Schedule!

You get to decide when you work…  If your more productive on the evening, then work on the evenings.  You want to get up, spend a couple of hours on your blog and then have the rest of the day to yourself, then do it.

As long as your consistent, you decide when you’re going to put that effort in.

#5 No Prior Knowledge Required!

The internet has come a long way…  There is no need to know anything about html or coding, or anything like that.

In a sense, it is no more complicated than writing a word document and navigating Facebook.  WordPress makes it so easy for anyone to get started with their own blog.

As far as the marketing skills that you will need, can be learned at a very affordable price.  There is no need to go to college or have a degree to build your own online business.

Wealthy Affiliate is one of the best learning platforms for anyone to get started.

#6 No Need to Sell in Person!

In a traditional business, network marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) businesses, there is a prerequisite that you have to sell the products they sel to real people.  That requires skills in sales and pitches.

Now, if you’re anything like me, that really puts me off the whole thing.  Sales is an art form and I’m not comfortable doing it.  Therefore, I’ll never be able to do it.

With affiliate marketing, there is no need to do any of that.  There is just a need for you to learn how to build a proper website and how to market products to people who are interested and will come to you.  There is no need to sell or rely on your friends and family to make sales.

Done right, your customers will come to you via your website.  That means that your potential customers could come from everywhere and means you have a much larger pool to pull from than just your friends and family.

#7 You Don’t Need Your Own Products

Affiliate Marketing is all about promoting other people’s products.  So, there is no need to invest in researching, developing, and producing your own products.  Then having to pay for storage and payment systems, etc.

With so many affiliate programs out there, it allows everyday people to make money online by promoting them through their own blog.

#8 No Need to Handle Shipping or Any Customer Service

With affiliate marketing, you are only linking the customer with the product or service by recommending it.  That means that you will not have to deal with any shipping or customer service as that is the responsibility of the seller.

When the buyer comes along and buys the product via your affiliate link, you earn a commission and there is no need for you to do anything else.

Does Affiliate Marketing Have Any Criticism?

There is mainly one criticism against affiliate marketing.

The Abuse of Affiliate Links!

This only really applies if you are following the wrong advice.  There are affiliates out there that just spam their affiliate links everywhere, without any strategy or respect for people.

Many people get into the wrong mindset, and they are focusing so much on making money fast.  When they learn a little bit about affiliate marketing, they simply want to learn how to promote affiliate links to as many people as they can.  They end up spamming people, using unethical or illegal techniques to promote their affiliate links.

They end up getting their social media accounts banned and have not done the work to identify their target audience, so they are not getting the right traffic to your website.

They don’t see the results, they end up quitting thinking that affiliate marketing doesn’t work, but it’s really the methods they were using were not right.

People who follow the right strategy and do proper affiliate marketing will not have this issue.

How Long Should It Take to Start Making Money With Affiliate Marketing?

Let’s manage your expectations here.  This is one of the fundamental issues with people trying to make money online.  They have unrealistic expectations, usually due to so many scammers out there, telling you’ll be rich by tomorrow.

Every blog will be different, and it will depend on how much time and effort you are able or willing to put into your business.

Some people can start making money within a few weeks, but that is normally as they have spent every minute they could in front of their computer.

Others, like ourselves had a longer route as we both had full-time jobs and a family to work around.

For a good response to how long it can take, check out this video.  It is the ideal response to those looking for how long this will take:

It’ll also depend on the niche you are going with, as some are more competitive than others.

If you utilise platforms such as Wealthy Affiliate, the average time needed to make your first commission will typically be around 3 to 6 months. This is dependent on you following the training and taking consistent action, as this is no guarantee.

How Much Money Can I Make with Affiliate Marketing?

The Simple answer is that there is no limited…  Unlimited Income Potential!

(As long as you are willing to put in the time, effort, and some money…)

The potential earnings of Affiliate Marketing is HUGE!  Pat Flynn is a good example.  He is an expert at Affiliate Marketing.  In his monthly income report, you can see that he is earning at least $100k PER MONTH!

I know you might be thinking, “well that makes sense as he is an expert.  It is no surprise that he is earning that kind of money”.

He is indeed the extreme example of what is possible.  But we have seen a lot of people earning a full-time income and living freely, many are travelling the world by building a successful affiliate marketing business from home.

But there are still many success stories of a more realistic earning potential.

According to ConvertKit’s research, professionals in this industry have an average profit of $138,046 in 2016.  Then there are those that are not yet professionals but are working hard in this industry and they have an average profit of $9,497 in 2016.

The potential is there.  Once you have your business set up and your website up and running for you 24/7 and therefore making money for you 24/7.

Compare that to the traditional pay check which you receive from your boss every month.  With affiliate marketing you can honestly earning money whilst you sleep.

But you do need to put in the necessary efforts if you want this to become a reality!

It won’t be easy, and I will be totally honest about that.  But it is definitely worth pursuing in the long-term perspective.

What Type of Affiliate Programs Are There?

There are 3 main types of affiliate programs that you’ll find online:

  1. Private Affiliate Programs – These are affiliate programs that are available direct from the seller of the product. You will apply direct with the merchant and then your affiliate link will take them to their website.  e. you sign up with Apple and promote their products and send them (through your affiliate link) to the Apple website
  2. Affiliate Networks – Some merchants don’t really want to manage their own affiliate program, so they outsource that to an affiliate network. So, you need to know about the affiliate networks there are:
    1. Awin
    2. ClickBank
    3. ShareASale
    4. CJ Afffiliate

Signing up with these networks will give you access to a large number of affiliate programs, which means you don’t have to individually apply for programs.

  1. Amazon Associates Program – Everyone has heard of Amazon, and is usually the first step for newbie affiliates to apply and promote products. By signing up with Amazon, you gain access to their huge catalog of products (which is a lot)

When you compare this to having to apply for individual affiliate programs for products elsewhere, Amazon is an ideal opportunity for people just starting out.

Please note, every platform will have its own rules, terms and conditions for both affiliates and sellers.  It is important that you familiarise yourself with these rules before you sign up with them.

How Much Time Will I Need to Invest?

How much do you want this?  But seriously, this will depend on your current schedule and commitments.  If you are able to put two hours a day aside, you will see quicker results than someone who only puts in 2 hours a day.

Having said that, you need to know that the more time you put into your business, the faster you will see the results and you will therefore earn more money.

If you want to see better results earlier, then you should invest as much time as you can into your business, where possible.

Should I Invest in Online Marketing Training?

It isn’t necessarily, but we would definitely recommend it…

There is a lot of free resources and information to be found online.  But the real problem with doing that, is you are going to waste time to collate all that information, find out which advice to follow, and then put it together into a strategy.

It’s also how so many newbie affiliate marketers get caught out by a scammer.  Many of these marketing gurus online are only really interested in making themselves more money, rather than helping a newbie get a good start.

If you are a complete beginner who wants to make money online, it is best to have a training/strategy that is systematic.

Just randomly searching on Google will likely have you feeling overwhelmed or even quit before you even get started…

We recommend that you find a proper training program that offers a step-by-step plan and support and you will not typically find proper training for free.

We recommend Wealthy Affiliate, It offers online marketing training and is the training program we uses ourselves to learn the skills we required.

What SHould I Be Promoting?

In essence, you could promote ANY product or service online…  But you need to consider who your target audience is and then ensure you are only promoting products and services that are relevant to them…  Otherwise, you won’t gain their trust.

It would be like me trying to sell fishing gear on this site.  I’m here to help people get started with blogging or affiliate marketing, and that is where my knowledge base is.  Trying to promote anything that isn’t relevant to that, is just going to put you off…

Typically, you will find that products and services will be from one of two categories: Physical and Digital.

Physical products are those that are tangible, as in you get a product through the post, i.e., a book, etc.

Digital products include online tools, software, a membership, an eBook, an online course, etc.

There are many products and services in either category.  But the key point you need to take away is that the product/service needs to be relevant to your target audience and help solve their problems or need.

Digital Products appear to be the most popular products to sell online.

Since So Many People Are Doing Affiliate Marketing, Is It Still Worth Doing?

The simple response is Yes!

There is a growing concern that since more and more people are doing affiliate marketing online, there is a point where it may become saturated.

We get why you might be thinking like that, but we don’t agree with the sentiment.

There is the fact that more people are getting involved with affiliate marketing, but there is also the counter argument that more and more people are buying their products online.  There are reports that nearly 4 billion people have access to high-speed internet these days.  That shows the potential customer base for affiliate marketers is that high.

Also, there are more and more markets being invented and discovered, so Affiliate Marketing can only grow.

Plus, as most of them joining don’t commit properly, they soon leave the market.  If you’re someone who can commit and give it your all, then you will easily outlast them and find success.

Can I Not Just Buy Traffic to Promote My Affiliate Links?

Hey, let’s speed up the process and just buy traffic, that’ll work right?

Umm… Yes and No!

Look there will always be those that are not willing to put in the time and effort required to learn the necessary skills and create content.  So, they think they can speed up the process by buying traffic to go to their affiliate links.

But there is a significant problem with this method…

Buying traffic and making it profitable isn’t as easy as many people think.  If you don’t spend the time to learn the basics, you will end up losing money instead of earning any.  You need to ensure your Return on Investment (ROI) is positive.  To do this, you need to know what you are doing.

Getting into paid advertising can work for you, but only if you are working on strategies you already know work.

If you blindly start paying for ads, without knowing what works, you can end up wasting a lot of money with no ROI.

That is why we tend to recommend you learn free traffic methods first.  Then you know what works, and then can enhance your sales more effectively through paid traffic.

For example, if I have ten reviews and rely on free traffic for them.  I can then see that I get more clicks through to affiliate links and more sales from only two of them.  I can then think, I’m going to invest in advertising those two more…  And ignoring the other 8.

But the blind route would be to just promote all ten, and waste a lot of money…

Even if you do know how to buy traffic and monetise it, it is not a long-term strategy, and you are very unlikely to get consistent sales from buying traffic.

The best strategy is to create content and rank it in the search engines.  It is free and a long-term strategy to build a passive income.

Although, this method will take you longer to see results, the income rewards you are getting at the end is definitely worthwhile.

There's Too Much Competition, How can I succeed?

Simply Put… Don’t worry about it!

I understand that you may be worrying about all the other competitors that may be in your particular niche.  It is a valid concern, but one that I do not share.

Even if there are a lot of competitors in your niche, no two websites are the same and you can still make money.  Different people have different opinions, and they have different things to offer their target audience.

With affiliate marketing, your job is to understand the need of your target audience and offer them solutions.

If you can choose a good niche and target audience and then market good solutions to them, you can definitely make money.

Check out this post if you still have doubts on this point.

How Do I KNow If My Efforts Are Paying Off & Not Just Wasting My Time & Money?

When I get asked this, I always remember the Lego movie where they show that cat poster with “Believe” on it.  You need to believe that it will happen and keep on working until it does.

This is not a get-rich-quick scheme, and it is also true that 99% of people fail as they don’t commit to putting in the time and effort.  It might take 3 to 6 months before you earn your first sale, but that just proves the strategy works.

I always think about the small successes, like the first comment on your blog…  that shows someone is interested in what you have to say.

Someone replies to your email… they want to hear more from you.  Someone sends you a message asking to write you a guest post… cool!

But none of this happens if you think this will work by putting in effort for a day, or a week…  We are talking about months of work or even years.

Put it into context… If you put in an hour a month, that is only 12 hours of time and effort in a year…

An hour a week is 52 hours of time and effort in a year…

Or an hour a day is 365 hours of time and effort…

Make that two hours and that doubles to 730 hours…

You think about how much time we might spend on social media, then two hours a day becomes a realistic goal if you want to get back your time and earn yourself a passive income.

I want a better life for my family, so try and commit to at least an hour a day!

You Have to Believe in Yourself and your Effort Will Pay Off!

Do I Wait to Add Affiliate links? Do I Need Good Rankings First?

There are many misconceptions about affiliate links, with some saying that the search engines don’t like them.  Then some will say you need to wait until you have decent rankings before you start adding affiliate links.

Let’s clear this up…   Google doesn’t hate affiliates and affiliate links.  This post will show you why.

What Google hates more is low-quality websites with low quality content.

Google runs a service where they are helping people get answers to their questions, so they want blogs and websites that help their users get the best answer they can possibly get.  Low quality content does not do this.

So, you can add in an affiliate link when you are writing your content.  You don’t need to wait until it is ranking.

Remember, where you rank in the search engines will be determined by the quality of your posts, and not whether you have an affiliate link or not.

Provide high quality content and including an affiliate link is not an issue.

Affiliate Marketing FAQ - Niche Related Questions

Now, for the niche related questions…

What's a NIche?

When it comes to affiliate marketing, a niche refers to a sliver of the market that you are targeting and the target audience for that niche.

Choosing a niche to target for your affiliate marketing campaign, is choosing a group of people whom you want to help and create value for by meeting their need and wants or by answering their questions or solving their problems.

Let’s use an example…

Let’s say that you are a 55-year-old man that used to be overweight.  You have put in a lot of effort into maybe dieting or exercise to lose that weight.  You have slimmed right down and are very healthy right now and want to help others achieve similar results through your knowledge of the process for yourself.

From this example, we could say that one of your possible niches could be – How to lose weight for men over 50.

Too many people believe you need to be an expert, but that isn’t true.  They want help from real people with experience, and in that example you do.  They aren’t looking for a fitness instructor, otherwise they would go to a gym.  They are also not looking for a dietician.

They want to learn from your story, as you’ve done it.

So, men over 50 are your target audience and your aim is to help those people lose weight from your own experience!

How DO I Find a Good Niche?

I would suggest there are 4 things you should consider when you are deciding on what a good niche is for you to work on…

  1. It should be your own passion or hobby

  2. It must be very specific

  3. You must be able to write content and give your own opinions about it

  4. It must be profitable

#1 It Should Be Your Own Passion or Hobby

Being passionate or determined about the topic you choose is integral, especially in the beginning.  There are a lot of skills that you will need to learn and that can be really overwhelming.

So, why make it any harder than it needs to be.  Focusing on a passion or hobby, means that you already have knowledge about the subject which means when it comes to content ideas or powering through a dip in form, will be easier…

#2 It Must Be Very Specific

There are 2 mains reasons for choosing a very specific niche:

  1. It is easier to pinpoint specific problems and identify solutions to those problems for your target audience

  2. It is easier to make a name for yourself in that niche and become an “authority” to your target audience

It also helps you compete against the big boys in that area who are broadly targeting your niche but are not offering your target audience all they are after.

The more specific you are when choosing your niche, the faster you can see results and therefore make money.

Some people have a misconception that they need to reach a large audience to make money, this means they end up choosing a broad niche.  But this can actually hamper your chances of success.

Having a smaller number of interested readers will yield better results than a huge number of uninterested people.

My advice would be to not try to please everyone.  With affiliate marketing, if everyone is your customer, then no one ends up being your customer.

#3 You Must Be Able to Write Content & Give Your Own Opinions About It

You need to be writing content, and then writing some more content…  If you aren’t able to write anything or record any videos you will not get any traffic.

Picking a niche which holds no interest for you, will make this a huge problem.  But if you pick a subject you enjoy, you are already the target audience for your blog, which means the content ideas should never dry up…

The niche you choose will be the topic of what you are going to be writing about.

Therefore, it should be something that you are passionate about and enjoy and mean that you have personal experience with the topic and have multiple ideas for what to write about.

Having your opinion gives your site a personal touch.  This allows you to engage with your audience more and make your words more trustworthy.

#4 It Must Be Profitable

Almost any niche can be profitable, but not all of them.  The potential for every niche is completely different.

There are many ways to predict whether a niche is profitable.  But as a beginner, there are two main rules you should consider when choosing your first niche:

  1. There must be products for your niche

  2. The price of the products shouldn’t be too low

When you are brainstorming niches, do a Google search or check Amazon’s marketplace and see if there are products related to that niche.  Then you can see if there is a market for that niche.

The products or services should be too cheap.  This is because a product that only costs a few dollars will not make you rich by promoting it as an affiliate.  There must be products that are more expensive or services that pay you a residual income, i.e. a recurring membership fee.

Recommended: How to Find Your Niche

I'm Not an Expert! How Do I Persuade People to Trust Me & Buy From Me?

The term Expert is a relative term.  You don’t need to be an absolute expert.  You just need to be a relative expert.

If we go back to the example before about the 55 year old who lost weight and now wants to share how they did it.  They are technically not an expert, but are much more likely to get results from a blog showcasing their story over a doctor.

If people are looking for experts help, they go direct to the source.  People doing a google search (your target audience) are looking for free advice.  That is where an affiliate comes in.

In order for you to make money online, you just need to know more about your target audience.

Another example would be, if you owned a dog, you are much more experienced and knowledgeably in raising dogs than those who have never owned a dog.  There is no need for you to be a vet or dog expert, but since you have the experience of raising a dog, you can help people who have yet to own a dog.

If you have more experience and knowledge in a certain field, you are considered a relative expert for those who don’t have the knowledge.

Affiliate Marketing FAQ - Basic Website Questions

Have some questions about the website stuff?  Let’s get you through some basic questions…

SubDomain Vs Own Domain - What's The Difference?

Domain name is the URL or name of your website.  It’s like the address of your house.  The website hosting is like your actual house.

There is a key difference between a subdomain and your own domain

Subdomain

These are mostly FREE and will generally look like this:

YourDomainName.SiteRubix.com or YourDomainName.WordPress.com

Own Domain

These are paid for and the cost will vary depending on the quality of the hosting server.  A decent one will cost around $15 to $20 a year.  This cost will sometimes depend on the demand as well.

A paid domain will look something like:

YourDomainName.com or www.YourDomainName.com, etc.

What’s the Difference?

You don’t really own a free subdomain.  It also comes with some limitations.  Apart from the obvious one of it not being user-friendly, you are usually limited in what you can achieve with it.

With a full domain, you have full control, and you actually own it.  Want to move it to different hosting you usually can.  You’ll usually find that a paid domain will usually rank higher in the search engines too.

You can learn more with this 5-minute video…

What's the Difference Between a Page & a Post

A page is a static article, and would usually be your About Page, Contact Page, Disclosure Page, and Privacy Policy.

You will usually have very few actual pages on your site, with the majority of your content being published as a post.

A post is the content you create regularly and post to your blog-roll.  As you pubish new blog posts, the older ones will be pushed further down the order.  They are usually date stamped.

Like I said, you’ll have a few pages and after a couple of years you might 400 blog posts…

Should My Homepage be a blogroll or a Static Page?

To be honest, this is down to personal preference.  There are arguments for both style, but you need to decide on which one fits your brand and your audience.

We personally prefer a Static Page.

That is because it is a great way of giving a clear indication to any visitors what your website is about.  Regardless of how they land on your website, if they then click on your home page (which is a good thing), how are you going to turn them into someone who signs up for your email list, or at least thinks I like what you’ve got to say and I’m going to come back.

Using your blogroll, doesn’t do this and depending on the articles that are appearing at the time, it may mean your visitors have to work out what your website is about.

They will need to spend some time navigating around before they understand what it is your website is about.

Using your blogroll could also be considered lazy, or that the owner doesn’t know what to put on their homepage.

Your homepage needs to deliver a clear message to your target audience, include a call-to-action.

Remember, people have a very short attention span online…  You need to get them hooked quickly if you want to draw them into your recommendations…

You need to be really clear on what you are offering, and you will only be able to do this with a static homepage.

That is why we recommend a static homepage.

I'm Not Very Technical & Know Nothing About Coding... How Do I Do This?

Relax, I also don’t know a lot about coding!

I use a drag and drop page builder called Elementor to get the look and feel of the website I want.  I don’t usually use code at all.

And there is no need to worry about this, technology allows people to build a professional looking website in minutes without any coding knowledge.

We lacked any knowledge about any of this before we got started.

WordPress is the most popular Content Management System (CMS).  It allows people to manage and edit their websites in a really user-friendly interface without any need to touch any coding or anything too complicated.

SiteRubix is a powerful website builder which helps you build your own website in just a few minutes adopting WordPress as the CMS.

Affiliate Marketing FAQ - Content Creation Questions

Here’s the common questions about creating content for your affiliate marketing campaigns…

How Long Should a Blog post Be?

There is no real rule about how long your content should be…  But…there is also a huge link between the length of your blog posts and the average rankings it will get in the search engine…

Research undertaken by Neil Patel proves this:

Affiliate-Marketing-FAQ: Content Length Graph

Patel’s research showed that the average word count for content that is ranking in the top positions in the search engines is roughly 2,450 words.

I know, it doesn’t quite compute as on one hand we are saying that people have a short attention span, so would we need to create in-depth and long blog posts.  That is why some just create short blog posts.

But the reality is that longer and more in-depth content gets more shares, more link-backs and is more trusted by the search engines.

This is mainly down to the fact that longer content will usually have higher quality information and delivers on what the search engines are wanting.

This does not mean that short content can’t deliver value to the reader, but most long posts definitely offer more value and more information.

Read this post by Neil Patel on this topic.  You will find inspiration in the post!

Do I Need To BE A good writer to create good content?

Let me put it this way…  there is no need to think about writing as something only University students can do…  The beauty of blogging is that this isn’t an English essay to get your degree.

Being a writer might give you an advantage when it comes to writing content for your website, but it isn’t guaranteed.  There is also the point that writing posts for your website is completely different to the writing you would do for a written book or for an exam.

To make money online, you need to write posts that are focused on conversion.  This is completely different to how you would write a book or exam or essay.

People also worry that English might not be there first language, and so they feel that they can’t write content for a website.  But that doesn’t matter.

Many successful affiliate marketers have English as their second language.  Jerry Huang is a very successful affiliate marketer within Wealthy Affiliate, and English is his second language, but that isn’t a barrier.

There is also a particular successful online marketer within Wealthy Affiliate where English is his fourth language, but he is still creating content and earning a huge passive income online through his website.  He also runs a successful podcast too.

Writing content for a blog focuses more on writing in a conversational manner and not a formal way.  These are skills that can be learned, and they will help you write content that sells.

Don’t worry if you think you are not a writer or think you are a bad writer!  We all started somewhere, and my writing has improved hugely since getting started.  The more you do something, the better you get.

can I Post The same article in multiple places?

Your content needs to be original and sharing it in multiple places will not help with rankings as it could be considered duplicate content.  Which is a big no!

But there does need to be a bit of clarification…  For example.  Writing an article on your post and then posting the same article on a forum like Quora, is a big no.

But writing an original blog post on your website, and then sharing the link to your blog post with an excerpt of your post on social media is fine.

It is best to have an original post every time and not reuse it elsewhere!

Can I translate another article myself & Publish it as my own?

Yes…

As it would be considered as original content by the search engines if you translate the content manually yourself.

It would be hard to detect that the content is from another source because there are plenty of ways for you to translate the same thing.

My advice would be is to not use things like Google translate.  The translation will be a low quality and it could also be detected by the search engines.

However, it is still better to come up with your own original content.  It is a better long-term strategy if you really want to make a full-time income online for the long-term.

How Often should i post a blog post?

This will be determined by how much time you have available, but ideally you would be publishing a new blog post on a weekly basis…  If you are able to write more content, then that is going to be better for you and quicken up the process.

The norm seems to be one post per week.

If you are posting at least once a week, you’re in a good position.

If you can’t quite achieve that level, don’t worry.  It might just mean that you will wait longer for results.

How many keywords should i target in each post?

One!

Check out this post for more information on this subject.

Can I Outsource My Content Creation?

That depends on where you are in your journey.  For example, a blogger who is getting good traffic levels and getting conversions, then it’s a good idea to outsource your content creation as the conversions should cover the costs of it.

You’ll also know what your target audience is after…

But if you’re still new to this, my advice would be to wait until you know what works or not.  There’s no point wasting your budget on a whim…

You have to know what kind of content is working for your target audience and niche.  You need to know what to write and how you should write it.

This way, you can then give clear instructions to the people you hire to write your content for you.
