Let’s show you how to set up your health and wellness site, with a few examples thrown in. I am a member of Wealthy Affiliate, which is an excellent training provider for both affiliate marketing and website building. The tools I will be using are part of their membership.
They are, in my opinion, the best choice for where to set up your health and wellness site. The choice is up to you, as you can build your website wherever. Choose a Niche & Understand Target Audience.
I know I gave some examples of niches above… But there is a tool within Wealthy Affiliate that allows you to search and find profitable niches to go after. It’s called Niche Finder. Let’s see what it comes up with for “Health and Wellness”:
This will give you several options that you could use for setting up your health and wellness site. You could also type in one of these niches, to get several options. Let’s see what happens when we type “Nutrition”:
Now we have a better understanding of some niches you could get started with for our category “Nutrition”.
This allows us to think whether any of these are a good fit for us, or whether we need to keep looks. For the purpose of this example, I am just going to go with “Sports Nutrition”.
This allows us to consider several things…
Our Target Audience:
Here are three examples of target audiences for the niche of sports nutrition:
Athletes: This audience is interested in optimizing their performance and recovery through nutrition. They may be amateur or professional athletes in a variety of sports, from running and cycling to team sports like basketball or soccer.
Fitness enthusiasts: This audience is interested in using nutrition to support their fitness goals, whether that’s building muscle, losing weight, or improving their overall health. They may participate in various types of exercise, from weightlifting to yoga to cardio workouts.
Coaches and trainers: This audience is interested in learning about sports nutrition in order to help their clients or athletes achieve their goals. They may be personal trainers, sports coaches, or strength and conditioning coaches who work with a variety of clients or athletes.
So, now we can narrow down the niche again, so I’m going to continue with “Sports Nutrition” but now am going to be targeting “Fitness Enthusiasts”.
Now I can start thinking about what I could eventually start promoting as part of my blog content…
The Products or Services We Could Promote:
Here are three examples of products or services you could promote for fitness enthusiasts:
Protein Supplements: Protein supplements are a popular choice for fitness enthusiasts who are looking to build muscle or support recovery after workouts. You could promote a range of protein supplements, from whey protein to plant-based protein powders, depending on the specific needs of your audience.
Fitness Equipment: Fitness enthusiasts may be interested in purchasing equipment for home workouts, such as resistance bands, dumbbells, or a yoga mat. You could promote these products as well as larger fitness equipment like treadmills or stationary bikes.
Online Fitness Programs: Many fitness enthusiasts are interested in following structured workout programs, and there are a variety of online programs available to suit different needs and preferences. You could promote online fitness programs that focus on strength training, cardio workouts, yoga, or other types of exercise. Additionally, you could promote subscription services that offer access to a variety of fitness programs and classes.
With all of this information, we can now start really considering what our blog will be about. Who we will be targeting with our content. It also allows you to start thinking about creating a persona for your audience. So that when you are creating your content you have a “fitness enthusiast” looking for information about “sports nutrition” in mind.
Choosing a Domain Name
Now it’s time to think about the type of name your want for your travel blog.
There are many domain name checkers and tools that suggest domain names to you. This usually means that you have to go with their hosting. But they can still give you a good idea.
For this post, I used AI to generate examples that we could use for “fitness enthusiasts” looking into “sports nutrition”. I stress I don’t know if any of these are available. But I hope it gives you some inspiration for when you do get to build your travel blog… Here’s the list:
Remember to choose a domain name that is easy to remember, easy to spell, and reflects the niche of your blog.

As I mentioned, I am a member of the Wealthy Affiliate community. They are the ones who taught me to be able to build and monetise this blog. So, naturally, I am going to suggest that you do the same. But I’ll let you make that decision. Hi John, I am in the health and wellness niche. Not sure I would really recommend it. 3 years I’ve spent developing my site and it is hard work but I guess It is still doable.
I’d probably say to make it work your tips are actionable but start off with a small handful of categories and don’t start new categories till you’ve covered a decent amount of content for each one.
Also, I think building an email list early on is a good idea. Even if it is just a free account to link to your RSS feed so your subscribers can be notified when new posts are published.
But yes honestly, it is a tough market to break into. I was doing OK for a couple different periods but now I’m really struggling.
I will consider some of your tips though maybe they will help.
